All of Metallon’s five mines have potential for further exploration with open-ended depth extensions.
In addition, there are also satellite orebodies to these operating mines with exploration results containing 4–6 million ounces of gold (verified by SRK in 2012).
At Mazowe Mine, there are conceptual targets which are currently under review.
The mineralisation at Mazowe mine is collectively hosted by granodiorite stock and feldspar porphyries, with a similar style of mineralisation. These lithologies are host to multitudes of narrow, sub-parallel mineralised shear zones which form an imbricate thrust shear zone system. To date, more than 15 sub parallel shear zones have been identified. These shear zones strike east west and dip to the north at 10 to 50 degrees. There is potential for additional reefs. The conceptual target size is approximately 2.5-3 million ounces.

At Redwing Mine, there is approximately 3.5-8 million ounces of potential. These targets are situated in rich quartz veins, and offer additional exploration upside potential.

At Shamva Mine, the impetus is on exploration of near surface resources amenable to open pit mining. The main targets are Shamva Hill and Danton Prospect. An RC drilling program with a total of 6200m for 70 holes is planned. The objective of the program is to delineate open pittable gold resources to feed a 60,000 tonnes per month plant for 10 years.
